I love this idea, which feels like a twist and refinement on the Bloomburrow Expend Mechanic (except you've got to pay it all on one spell), and anything that sweetens the pot when it comes to casting big instant and sorcery spells sounds good to me

Its no secret that the last few years of Standard have beenmediocre at best

There might not be many ways to cheaply farm mutate triggers right now, but well see whats possible down the line

For instance, in an Archimandrite deck you could gain a bunch of life in your upkeep and first main phase to add a big +X/+0 buff to your commander, then use Alteration to turn it into Giggling Skitterspike
